How to Save on Car Rental in Lesotho - Budget Car Hire Destinations to Consider
Knowing where to look for cheap car rentals in Lesotho is the first step in saving money on car rentals in Lesotho. Dingle, Sliema, and Mombasa are the three most popular tourist destinations in Lesotho for car rentals. If you are from the United Kingdom, you may already be aware that Dingle is the capital of Irish travel and tourism, with lots to offer both first-time tourists and those who are returning. The majority of guests will rent a car from a location within commuting distance or opt for a low-cost option.
Sliema and Mombasa are the other two most popular tourist sites in Lesotho. Sliema is the primary port of the Cape Town region of South Africa, while Mombasa is the birthplace of Mozambique. Both cities are located on South Africa's eastern coast and serve as the beginning point for any travel across the continent. The cost of renting a car in these two places is often less than in Dingle or Sliema.
If you're visiting Lesotho, look into the availability of airport transfers from the major cities so you don't have to waste time driving around. Various hotels will provide transportation from the airport to your hotel; however, if this is not an option, many taxi services, including motorbikes and vehicles, are available to rent from the hotels at a low cost. Many travelers start their adventure in Mombasa and then drive to Dingle, where they can visit prominent tourist attractions and even relax at a beach resort. When visiting South Africa, don't forget to reserve a car rental in one of the famous cities and explore the countryside on your route to your next destination.
Lesotho's Best Tourist Attractions
Tse'hlanyane National Park is both underappreciated and underutilized. This is Lesotho's largest park, and Ts'ehlanyane is about as far away from it all as you can get. This Lesotho Northern Park protects a 5600-hectare piece of harsh wilderness at a high altitude, comprising one of Lesotho's few stands of indigenous forest, as well as a number of uncommon undergrowth flora that are peculiar to this woodland ecosystem. Explore one of Lesotho's best kept secrets at Maliba Lodge, which is located within the Ts'ehlanyane National Park.
Botanical Gardens and Katse Dam. A visit to Katse Dam is a highlight of any trip to Lesotho. This is the centerpiece of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, which transports water from the Lesotho Highlands through the mountains via an extraordinary network of dams and tunnels before dissipating over the plains of South Africa's Free State Province. When it was being built in the 1990s, it was billed as the largest engineering project in the southern hemisphere, and the sight of the towering dam wall (Africa's tallest) and the deep lake it has created in the highlands is certainly worth seeing!! At Katse, activities include a tour of the dam wall, a boat cruise on Katse Dam, a town visit, a stroll through the Katse Botanical Gardens, or a couple of hours of horseback riding.
Semonkong Falls / Maletsunyane Semonkong is a popular tourist destination because it is home to the Semonkong Falls, also known as the Maletsunyane Falls, which is southern Africa's tallest single drop and offers some stunning unspoiled landscape. A five-kilometer trek along the Maletsunyane River leads to this gorgeous waterfall, which cascades 204 meters into a peaceful swimmable pool below.
