Dobrich is Bulgaria's ninth most populous city, the administrative center of Dobrich Province, and the seat of the Southern Dobrudzha region. It is located in the country's northeastern region, 30 kilometers west of the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, near resorts such as Albena, Balchik, and Golden Sands. Dobrich had a population of 90,375 persons inside the municipal boundaries in January 2012. Dobrotitsa, the Bulgarian medieval lord of the surrounding region, inspired the city's name. Agriculture is the most advanced sector of the economy.

Interesting locations

The City Park St. George, or the city garden as it is called among Dobrich residents, is the most visited location by both locals and visitors. Bildieto (the City Municipal Council) chooses a location in the Karabokluka district for the creation of the first city garden in 1867. Gradinarovi's family has made a significant contribution to the development of city-park art. It has an area of 430 dca and is split into many sectors, including "The Old Garden," "Children's Sector" - a zone for games and pleasure, park lakes zone, rock terrace gardens zone, sports zone, and so on. The ancient garden of the city park is designated as a cultural and garden park art monument in 1999. The park is just adjacent to Dobrich's major pedestrian zone. The park is one of the country's five oldest city parks. It includes the ancient garden, which has been designated as a cultural historical site, a children's area, lakes, terraced rock gardens, and a sports area. Visitors can still observe several plant species introduced from Europe around the turn of the century. The park also houses one of the town's museums, which has a separate area for temporary and visiting exhibitions.

Nature and Animal Protection Centre - The center is unique not only in Bulgaria, but also throughout Eastern Europe. It was established as part of a Bulgarian-Swiss initiative and has a land area of 16 hectares, 50-year-old vegetation (trees and shrubs), and easy access. The zoo is home to approximately 40 animal species, including deer, roe, raccoon, alpaca, llamas, mouflons, goats, Przhevalski's horses, brown bears, bison, pheasants, storks, pelicans, exotic and water birds, turtles, and more. The reproduction and reintroduction of endangered animal species is a top focus for the zoo.

Dobrich TV Tower holds radio, television, and telecommunications broadcasting equipment. It is 146 meters tall and is made of reinforced concrete. The tower, designed by Petar Andreev, was built in 1979 and features a tourist observation deck. It is also notable for its design.
