Car rental with economy
Copenhagen is a beautiful and sophisticated city to visit. It is one of Scandinavia's major cities, with diverse, well-preserved architecture, world-class museums, and distinctive districts. With excellent restaurants and coffee shops all over the place, the city has recently reinvented itself as a destination for foodies and coffee enthusiasts. Why not visit the rest of Zealand after seeing Copenhagen? Copenhagen is set on an island with long, beautiful beaches, ancient coastal villages, and spectacular palaces. With a rental car, you may visit the Swedish city of Malmö on the other side of the resund Bridge, as well as the rest of Denmark.
City facts that are useful
Copenhagen has an oceanic climate since it is located at the confluence of the Baltic and North Seas. In July, the average high temperature is 22°C (72°F), whereas in January, the average high temperature is 3°C (38°F). On average, there are 13 days of precipitation every month; August is the wettest month, while February is the driest. Every winter, at least some snow falls in Copenhagen.
Copenhagen is a highly green city with many public parks and gardens that both residents and visitors appreciate. Some of the most well-known include the King's Garden, which surrounds Rosenborg Castle, the Copenhagen Botanical Gardens near Copenhagen University, and the huge Frederiksberg Gardens, which are home to several waterbird species. Many gorgeous beaches (which, of course, are most delightful during the summer months) are also just a short drive from the city center.
Parking and traffic advice
Denmark follows the right-hand rule of the road.
Unless otherwise specified, the speed limit on highways is 130 km/h (80 mph), 80 km/h (50 mph) on all other intercity roads, and 50 km/h (31 mph) within urban and built-up regions.
The general emergency number, like in the rest of the EU, is 112. Most national roads also include emergency phone booths every 2 kilometers (1.2 miles).
For both experienced and inexperienced drivers, the legal alcohol limit is 0.05 percent. Denmark has among of Europe's most severe drunk-driving penalties. Exceeding the legal limit by more than 0.02 percent or driving recklessly while intoxicated is a criminal crime that will result in jail time.
Drivers may only use a mobile phone using a hands-free system.
Copenhagen boasts some of the world's greatest cycling infrastructure. Cyclists are seen as equal traffic participants and expect vehicles to treat them as such.
Children under the height of 135 cm (4ft 6 in) must be restrained by a child seat or an equivalent child restraint. Whether you intend to travel with small children, check with your rental vehicle company to see if one is available.
Paid parking is available in Copenhagen, however space is restricted in the old town and city center. Parking prices vary depending on the region of the city, the time of day, and the amount of time you park. Visit the city's official website to learn more about parking in Copenhagen.
The registration and insurance paperwork for the vehicle must be kept in it at all times.
You must have your passport or ID card with you at all times when driving.
